Meditation

Fatima Teixeira

Music has a direct pathway to the limbic system, the part of the brain responsible for memory and emotion.
When we hear a song connected to a formative period of our lives, it activates autobiographical memory networks. In simple terms:
We don’t just remember the song.
We remember who we were when we first heard it. For many of us, Dawson’s Creek wasn’t just a series.
It marked our adolescence. Our first loves. Our becoming. That’s why a few notes can feel like a wave.
