The biggest regret people report at the end of life is not living their authentic selves, their truth, sooner. As multi-dimensional beings, we have all different parts to ourselves that develop differently over time. An essential part of this is our Root, also called our shadow or pain body. The Root is, amongst others, a place where we store pain, emotions & trauma that we can’t deal with the moment they occur. We implement strategies and coping mechanisms to help us survive. These strategies will most often become outdated and cause challenges and limitations in our lives. When we ignore, push aside, and shame all that is sitting in our Root, our authentic selves will suffer from this. We lose our authentic qualities such as safety, connection, expression, healthy anger, and compassion. And then, at the end of our life, this comes and bites us in the butt. So... Last week, I completed Enrootment Method Foundations Level One, a training focused on incorporating different elements into one approach to access our Root: our psyche, body, nervous system, and spiritual self. By carefully working on this multi-dimensional level, we can reconnect to our authentic self. What does this mean for my practice? The @enrootmentmethod is, has now become part of my sessions as an end of life doula @_fullcircledoula_ and my work with altered states of consciousness @chival.community. Regulation of the nervous system through body & energy work, new conversation techniques, and breathwork will all be incorporated in the appropriate context. Stay tuned! Thank you to all involved in this training, particularly those who gave me their sessions and those who received mine. My biggest gratitude goes out @rootedself. I’m so inspired by the breadth of his expertise and the ease of movement with his intuition and knowledge. I aim to continue learning from him, and of course, from everyone I’ll be working with.
