In each of my Somatic Movement workshops, Yin Yoga and Vinyasa classes I aim to cultivate an environment for presence and bodily connection. The way in can take movers many directions, down various paths woven through our inner worlds. Sensation, awareness, or meditative, contemplative states, the only thing that matters is the time we take for ourselves to be in a place or state of freedom of expression, even if for one moment, it could be halfway through your sun salutations or, while you're feeling like a prehistoric life form with no spine (whatever goes, it's fine). What does it mean to move? What is it that sometimes cannot be expressed through words but holds an importance so great that it generates a feeling, something that rises from the depth of our bones and out through our eyes and into the world we inhabit and share with others. Afterall, we have always moved. We have many laughs, sometimes tears, sometimes questioning what am I doing here, but essentially all that matters is knowing we are just passing through moment by moment - nothing is fixed, yet everything is sacred. Next in line to bring to the party is Reiki, I'm designing ways to integrate this energy into my movement practice, and then as an offering.
