Sumedhaa Panwar

his week is a special one, as the solar eclipse is happening on Wednesday evening! It will be the first time I get to experience a solar eclipse as the sun, moon, and earth align, the moon’s shadow will cover part of our planet. We are lucky to have our area partially covered (more than 90%!) An eclipse can be experienced as a change felt throughout the whole environment (not only something happening in the sky)- but only if you stop to observe. Imagine daylight fading and insects begin their evening sounds, or some animals could behave as though night is arriving, and shadows become unusual. It’s a very unique experience. For our ancestors, these shifts would have been immediate reminders that they were part of a larger living system. And I believe we can use that inspiration to get out into nature and observe the magnitude of our reality. On Thursday during our class, we’ll explore grounding ourselves in the present moment connecting with the root chakra, refining our ability to observe clearly, and opening to a wider perspective.
